A fun day! Lots of interested visitors, fun helpers, vodka shots. I even sold 5 pieces! Sharing my space with Jason Shirriff added to the rich experience.

More than 50 photos have been posted to my Flickr and Facebook pages.

NEXT EVENT: Saturday, June 13th!

Early April – Singing and Studio

First rehearsal with the BCCO Orchestra went REALLY well! Arlene Sagan, director, at the front in pink.

The chorus part of the Berkeley Community Chorus and Orchestra has been learning Dvorak’s Stabat Mater since early January. Last Monday evening April 13, 2009, was our first rehearsal with the orchestra, and it sounded GREAT! This is a STUNNING piece of music, composed in honor of the deaths of his children. The music is wonderful to sing and wonderful to hear with a wide range of emotional tones. We’re dedicating the three free concerts to any parent who has lost a child.

I'm both oppressed and delighted with the mess I made, but I must clean it up before Open Studio!

I'm both oppressed and delighted with the mess I made, but I have to clean it up before Open Studio!

Instead of cleaning up my studio, I’m headed to Indianapolis for the annual Art Libraries Society of North America conference. Now that I’m retired, I’m an art librarian without an art library, without portfolio. But I have friends that I’ve known since 1976 when I first started attending, and Indianapolis has some unique architecture and one of the best art librarianship programs in the country.
